Problem Solving Methodology (PSM)
The problem-solving methodology consists of using generic or ad hoc methods in an orderly manner for finding solutions to problems. Some of the problem-solving tools/techniques are 5 why, fishbone analysis, brainstorming, PDCA, G8D and, Six sigma, Flow charts, Check sheet, Control charts, Scatter diagram, Pareto, Histogram etc are mainly used generally in Automotive industries, for finding solutions to problems etc.
Continuous Improvement Process (CIP or CI)
This is an ongoing effort to improve products, services or processes. These efforts seek incremental improvement in overtime or breakthrough improvement at once. Delivery processes are constantly evaluated and improved in light of their efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility. Some of the continuous improvement tools/techniques that can be applied are KAIZEN, PDCA, Business process re-engineering BPR, Six Sigma, Control charts, LEAN, VA/NAV analysis, Benchmarking principles, Process mapping, etc.
International Organization for Standardization (New ISO 9001 and IATF 16949)
The new ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 is the fundamental international standard for the Automotive industry and technical specification. The new standards set up criteria for quality management systems and provide guidance and tools for companies/organizations that want to move to ensure that products and services product constantly meet customer requirements, and their quality is consistently improved.
